moodboard: 2020 Vision

Welcome to the first post of cnscs_ eye candy! Our Eye Candy section is where we are sharing all things visual. To kick it off, we decided to set the tone with some moodboards.

Our moodboards are a reflection of our hundreds of saved Instagram posts and ever-growing Pinterest boards. We felt like kids again, while we laughed, chatted, cut out and glued down all of our 2020 style visions. We hope they will inspire you to think a little deeper about your personal style and maybe spend an afternoon getting crafty with your friends. Here are our 2020 Vision Boards.

Masegoโ€™s moodboard:

This year and decade, I want to work more on refining my personal style. In years past Iโ€™ve always been inspired by style subcultures and tried them out, but I couldnโ€™t stick to one for too long. Iโ€™ve realised that my personal style is about mixing these subcultures together, thatโ€™s where I feel most comfortable and confident. So mixing and layering are my two keywords. Iโ€™ve always looked and been inspired by my mom, the way she wears things and that wonโ€™t be changing. She layers skirts or dresses over pants/jeans, wears tops under summer dresses and mixes patterns and textures. With this in mind, I chose images that had silhouettes I liked or a certain energy that I want to channel this year.

Stellaโ€™s moodboard:

If my moodboard came with a few keywords, they would be: dresses, layering and colour. Iโ€™m very much a pants gal, and for a while, I barely owned/wore any dresses, but this summer I rediscovered dresses and their versatility. Safe to say, Iโ€™m now a dress gal. If you had told me a few years ago that I would start wearing pants under dresses, I would have laughed. But, now, Iโ€™m really enjoying experimenting with layering and being more whimsical with how I wear my garments. I donโ€™t want to take fashion too seriously anymore. Lastly, Iโ€™m trying to be more playful in my style choices in 2020, and embrace colour. Iโ€™ve always loved colour, but for a long time I steered away from it, because I was trying to cultivate a more โ€œmatureโ€ look. Now, Iโ€™m ready to embrace my inner child. And thatโ€™s my 2020 vision!

With love,

Masego and Stella
